Hi, I'm Anna Kaplan.

I’m a breaking news reporter at Forbes, and have reported for Citizen and The Daily Beast. I graduated from Seattle University in March 2019 with a B.A. in Communication and Media with a specialization in Journalism where I completed internships at The Stranger, BUST Magazine, and Sub Pop Records. I’ve also freelanced for publications such as Refinery29, The Portland Mercury, The Denver Westword, KEXP 90.3 FM, and The South Seattle Emerald.

I served as News and Investigative Editor at Seattle U’s student newspaper, The Spectator, for two years. In April 2018 a professor pulled newspapers from the stands after we published a story about the on-campus drag show, and was part of a multi-month investigation into Seattle University's entanglement with sexual assault. The Western Washington chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists awarded the editorial staff with the Susan Hutchison Bosch award for quiet courage and perseverance for these stories. Our reporting was also covered by the Columbia Journalism Review and The Seattle Times.
